ABOUT ROSEMARY

Name: Rosemary Garner

Hometown: San Antonio, TX

Zodiac Sign: Virgo

Nicknames: Rosie

Interests: producing documentaries, playing around on the guitar, swimming in saltwater, eating pretty vegetables, cultivating meaningful relationships, and living a conscious life—in no particular order

Pet peeves: Aggressive drivers, negativity without humor, and the unbearable sound of people chewing with open mouths

Color of choice: Blue...all flavors

Personal hero: My mom

Secret addiction: People Magazine. There. I said it. (I have yet to actually buy one, but sometimes I choose the longest check-out line in a store so that I can get my fix, while I wait.)

Favorite recent purchase: Massively on-sale skinny jeans from Banana Republic and ten orange Gerbera daisies from Bert's Red Apple

Weird fact: I've never had a cavity

Favorite TV shows: We have no reception. Literally. But King of the Hill cracks me up. (Probably not a big fave of other moms out there, but forgive me, I grew up in Texas.)

Favorite Foods: Sushi, Dino Kale, puffy tacos, and high-end dark chocolate

Favorite Family Activity: Urban hikes, reading on rainy days with my snugglebug, and laughing really really hard

Favorite Mom-friendly brand: Okay, once we had a $42 late-fee for The Lion King II video. Therefore, Netflix is up there. As is Annies Homegrown. Annies promotes sustainability and they make healthy food that kids like to eat.

Hi, I'm Rosemary. I'm the 2010 Verity Mom. I'm the voice of Seattle's moms.

Why are you excited to be the VerityMom?

I am excited to be the Verity Mom because it is a role that fits into my life like the perfect puzzle piece. I get to combine my love of parenting, connecting with other moms, and being creative. Essentially I am getting paid to be who I am. Wow.

Why do you think this initiative is important?

Moms matter! I'm impressed that Verity is so interested in the collective voice of mothers they're going out on a limb to make the listening happen.
