Today Life is Good

Spring break is officially over.  For us, spring break couldn't have been more perfect. We returned from a relaxing vacation on the Oregon Coast Thursday evening, and spent the rest of the week unpacking, replenishing groceries, and doing yard work outside. Logan returned from Mexico on Saturday and revealed he was ready to come home after 3 days because he missed home. Although I'm glad he had an awesome spring break in Mexico, it was music to my ears that he missed being home. Even if he mostly just missed his girlfriend. I'll take what I can get.

Oregon or Bust!

While our oldest is in sunny and tropical Mexico, the rest of us planned our spring vacation this year with my parents renting a house on the Oregon Coast. We found our dream home right on the beach complete with crashing waves, potential whale sightings (haven't seen any yet - boo!), a house large enough to comfortably sleep 10, a hot tub, and we could even bring our Barkley!

Today is Logan's 18th birthday. All those years ago when he was reaching each of those anxiously awaited milestones, I, in no way intended for this one to come. In raising your children, this can be considered to be the milestone. The day your child goes from child to adult. Boy to man. And to a mommy, a sense of going from needed to unneeded. Selfish of a thought as that may be, it's still a reality.
